COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Good solid IPA....out of a can. Quite hoppy. Would prefer higher alcohol. Lacing is thin and beautiful.

bottle - deep golden body with a white head - floral hoppy nose - not that massive like a lot of other american IPA, nice hoppy and moderate fuity flavour

355ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Almost clear, rocky, golden body, in the direction of orange. Bubbly, white foam, spotty lacing. Inviting aroma of hoppy fruits with a floral touch. Taste of oranges, lemon and mild pumpkin along with sheer spiciness. Rounded and rather short finish of dry bitterness. Medium minus bodied. Session qualities (Tromsø, 30.11.2011).

From a bottle to a pint glass. Pours a perfect golden color with three fingers of white head. Dies down, but keeps a decent head throughout. Smells like a very soft IPA. Picking up the regular hops and pine, but it’s not overpowering like in others. Very sweet and mellow. There’s a lot of carbonation, and the hop presence is there, but it’s also very balanced. Really enjoyable. Very light bodies. Mouthfeel is sort of silky. Very well carbonated. Overall it was a solid beer. Not trying to do anything overly impressive, but not shallow either. I am a big Avery fan, and even though I’m not a fan of IPA’s, I’m pretty impressed by this one.

Pours a deep amber color with a respectable head. A slight but pleasant bitterness with little hop flavor taste and a slightly dry finish ending with a wood pulp kind of taste.
