COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours clear deep gold, with a medium white head, good lacing. Aroma of pine, hay, grass and caramel. Medium bodied, velvety, and dry. A little apple flavor under strong bitter pine and citrus. Medium bitter, lasting aftertaste, with a hint of sweetness just after swallowing.

Solid IPA, nice grapefruit/pine aroma, huge grassy hops covered in just enough caramel malt. Piny, slightly fruity, herbal, floral, and well balanced.

12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a medium white head. Smells of citrus, grass, mango, and grapefruit. Tastes of citrus and malts with a sweet undercurrent of floral hops. One of the better IPAs I’ve had recently.

Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Limpid golden body with average carbonation and a fair white foamy head. Enjoyable malty/hoppy aroma with floral and fruity hints. Taste is well balanced and carries piney and herbal notes. Ends with a long bitter finish. Good IPA.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Floral hoppy aroma with some citric hints. The flavor brings earthy, floral hops, and a bit of sweet malt. Decent, but not overly impressive.

Poured from Bottle into Pint glass. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a finger of white creamy head that dissolves into a fine layer around the glass. The Aroma has piney/grassy hops and some grapefruit. The flavor has a biting piney bitterness upfront with caramel malt down the stretch and ends up with a sweet bitterness. Its a medium bodied beer that a lightly carbonated. Its a nice change of pace from the typical NW citrus hop bombs but that doesn’t mean I’d reach for it every time I saw it.

Pours a cloudy golden orange color. Thin white head. Aromia is grapefruit and pine. Flavor leans heavily toward the bitter hops. Just a hint of caramel malt and peppery spice. Mouthfeel is a little on the watery side. Bitter hop finish. In this IPA, the hops seem a bit "forced," overpowering rather than being complimented by the other flavors. A decent IPA, and a good session beer.
