COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Golden orange pour with a medium head, good retention and lacing. A sweet malty aroma with leafy hop notes. Very malty IPA, sweet, with lots of bitter hop notes in the finish. Slightly sticky and full bodied.

first of all, I really appreciate the label on the beer. alot of people that come through my bar have no clue why IPA’s are called IPA’s, and i think the art on the bottle is innovative and explanatory. that being said, the beer pours hazy deep gold/straw with a nice foamy white head. floral nose of resin and citrus. flavor is hoppy, mostly citrus. lemon peel and grapefruit. finish is lots of malts with a residual bitterness at the back of the throat. bubbly and oily. actually somewhat medium-bodied in my humble opinion. still, not bad at all!

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Really looking forward to this beer, as it’s suppose to be for beer lover. The aroma was great, pours to a golden yellow body with a nice white head, looked great but didn’t much for this beer. The first taste was overpowering with nothing but a citrus taste, way to strong and while this is a medium body beer, I couldn’t taste much hops, most likely got a bad beer and will retry in time

Pours a bright, but cloudy orange colour- head is fairly large- white and floral. Nice citrusy character, soft and piney but typicaly hopped. My only complaint about this brew is- there’s nothing exciting about it. Pretty standard for the most part. Nothing unique, lots of hops and fruit but basic overall.

Bottle. Pours a dark yellow color. Has a three finger white head. Smells very hoppy. Grains and citrus are noticable. Great IPA. Not as good as Titian IPA.

Brownish orange IPA, two finger off white head leaves tons of lacing and a hoppy aroma. Grainy, earthy hops and a clean lingering finish. Good but not mind blowing.

Bottle. Pours a nice clear light gold color with a little white head. Strong floral citrus aroma, with an intial hoppy flavor that ends slightly malty. Great IPA from just down the road :)

Bottle 2008. A marvelous IPA! Scent of strong floral tones and powerful hops. Looks dark orangey-yellow with little head. Tastes of hops, hops, hops, with a wonderful malty aftertaste. This is a great IPA, very complex with the hops and malt interacting wonderfully.
