COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pouurs a hazy gold, with nice sized white head. Aroma is citrus, pine and floral. Taste is very caramel malt heavy with some bitter pine hoppyness, little bit of floral taste comes through to. Medium body, not to thin. Not bad for 8 dollars a 6 pack.

With just a hint of malty sweetness, this is hops all the way from the nose to the finish. However there’s a balance to it and it doesn’t get overpowering. Pines and grass are noticeable in aroma, citrus fruits in the taste. A clear copper colour with a minimal white head. (Bottle)

A: Pale amber body with a small white head that leaves some lace behind.. S: Pungent oily hops.. some garden-like smells.. not much malt shining through.. lacking complexity.. T: Picks it up a bit compared to the aroma... the oily hops are rather bitter and harsh.. flavor through out.. again not much of a malt background.. M: Medium body. Lingers a bit.. Not quite smooth, but more viscous. O: An ok IPA... its just a bit out of balance..

Good hoppy IPA. Well balanced, hoppy aroma, I inch foam head, citrus flavor, malt balanced. A good brew for hopheads. Good CO2, medium bitterness, worth the try

355mL bottle poured a pale amber color with a small off-white head and some spotted lacing. Aroma of citrus and floral hops and some toasted malts. Taste is nice hoppy bitterness balanced decently with some nutty and sweet maltiness. This is a great india pale ale with some nice carbonation and medium body and good mouthfeel.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin quarter inch off tan head that lasts. Taste is of hops, pine, resin, citrus, malt and spice. Similar aroma. Has a nice wet, creamy body. The finish is dry, bitter and lingers. A satisfying beer overall, that drinks easy and would be worth picking up again.

13 Oct 2011, can. yellow, clear, steady bubbles, bubbly head fades fast. lemony hops, cerealy malt and alcohol that smells like more than 6.5%. med body and mildly fizzy. cereal malt that is seriously dominated by very resiny hops with a dry, bitter resiny finish. pretty nice.
