COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700ís one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Coloradoís hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

You have to visit the Avery tap room and enjoy Avery IPA. Dugana and Maharaja are great ales from the tap room too. Avery IPA is my first choice, however. The dry hopped is on tap too. Youíll never go wrong with Avery IPA from the tap. It donít get no better.

On tap at New Bohemia in Golden Valley. Commonshawn present. Quality half finger of head on a standard looking IPA. Lacing is strong. Aroma contains plenty of citrus and in particular grapefruit. Some pine too. Taste involves citrus rind with bitterness prevailing. Resiny mouthfeel...slight oily nature. Hops run throughout and serve as the only real star. Leaves a little bit of a grainy taste at the end that I donít like. Itís an average to above average IPA. Not a lot else to say.

Can. Golden pour with a white head. Muted grapefruit hop aromas. Grapefruit and pine/resin hop notes. Good balance with a sturdy malt backbone. Good body and mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with some white head and lacing. Nose is citrus and pine. Taste is similar with lots of hop bitterness. Good.

12oz brown bottle into a Geordie Schooner glass. It poured a nice clear light orange amber colour with weak white foam. Mostly neutral grainbill, very faint Munich caramelly and bready notes, very little residual sweetness, emphasis definitely on the high-alpha American hops (I believe: Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook.) Sharp resiny bitterness and intense aromas and flavours: black currant fruit, lemon peel, cedar chips, honeysuckle nectar, unexpected nutmeg spice in the aftertaste. Light-medium body, strong carbonation, snappy dry finish. Tasty and true-to-style American IPA. No wonder itís one of the best examples and such a successful flagship IPA brand.

Bottle - good size cloudy head, clear medium gold color, big citrus and pine aroma and flavor, mild malt backbone, typical IPA but still very good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear blonde. Not much head. Smell is grassy with a fruity undertone. Taste is bitter, grassy, fruity ( more than the aroma) . Slightly malty in the undertone. Ok beer, but not as refreshing as I like an ipa to be

Crystal clear golden color. Tropical fruit and resin on the nose. Taste- much like the aroma, you get the tropical fruit notes along with some lemon and grapefruit. Also ample caramel malt backbone. A long bitter resinous finish. Above average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
