COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

355 ml can from BG Birra, served in a nonic half pint glass. Classic sunrise orange, slightly hazy, with a small, creamy, off-white head. On the nose old and stale hops, caramel malts, tea leaves, soap. Slightly citric and resiny in the far background. Not better in the mouth, malty, astringent, unpleasent sticky caramel. Moderate bitterness, soapy aftertaste. Very soft carbonation for the style, medium body and creamy texture. I don’t even know why I’m reviewing a 17 months old IPA from over the pond. Why would you even sell it ? Damn, I hate how almost nobody care about hoppy beer freshness in Italy. Hope to re-rate it properly in the future.

Can from BCS. Drank straight from the can. Nice big pine and resin aromas with a touch of grapefruit. Taste is more of the same with some nice malty sweetness that comes through. Almost drinks like an Imperial IPA with a sticky sweetness that is present. A little too sweet on the finish although there is solid bitterness throughout.

Can, Consumed at Truck Festival, Steventon, Oxon, Saturday 18th July 2015 Warm gold with a white head. Really quite bitter, some pine resin showing, bittersweet, the bitterness lingers. Very good, in fact really nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7

Golden pour with frothy white head. Floral, soapy, faint citrus. Crisp moutfeel, nice carbonation. It’s alright, nothing special. Avery’s bigger bottle format beers are typically much better.

Pours a light copper color with an orange tint. Floral aroma, with a citrus Holly flavor. Surprisingly clean and smooth, with a floral aftertaste. Slightly bitter, but crisp. A nice easy drinking beer for the style.

Nice, standard IPA. Deep gold color. Piney and floral hops. Light carbonation, medium bitterness in a medium bodied IPA. Just fine.
