COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

355 ml can from BG Birra, served in a nonic half pint glass. Classic sunrise orange, slightly hazy, with a small, creamy, off-white head. On the nose old and stale hops, caramel malts, tea leaves, soap. Slightly citric and resiny in the far background. Not better in the mouth, malty, astringent, unpleasent sticky caramel. Moderate bitterness, soapy aftertaste. Very soft carbonation for the style, medium body and creamy texture. I don’t even know why I’m reviewing a 17 months old IPA from over the pond. Why would you even sell it ? Damn, I hate how almost nobody care about hoppy beer freshness in Italy. Hope to re-rate it properly in the future.

Pours hazy gold. Decent head dissipates quickly to skim. Aroma of trop fruits, pine and fresh citrus. Taste is peach, mango, pine, caramel malts and OJ. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish bitterness lasts well. Good canned IPA.

Can. It pours hazy deep golden with a dense cream like head. The aroma is floral and citric with notes of pine. Underlying bready malty notes. Nice floral hoppy flavor. Good bitterness and good malty balance.

Incredibly bitter beer in both aroma and flavor. OK bitterness which fills the anterior and upper part of the mouth for a long time. Far from what my taste buds like. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Old rating: Pours golden, with a big creamy head. Aroma is bitter hops, with pine and orange peel, as well as some roasted malts, and a touch of oak. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is citrusy hops with grapefruit and orange peel, as well as a good roasted malt backbone. Lingering bitter finish.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/16/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around good complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
