COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Huge hops for a regular IPA. Definite citrus tartness both aroma and flavor. Pretty much all that is going on here is this. A hop heads delight fo sho!

350 mL bottle. Clear dark yellow with foamy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and hops. Citrus, pine, hemp notes, and a malty finish with some lingering bitterness.

Poured a clear amber with a medium ized long lasting white head. A big citrus aroma, grapefruit and mandarins. Flavor lightly malty sweet with the middle and end hoopy and bitter. Medium bodied and slightly silky.

Draft at the Dog and Pony. One of the better piney IPAs, no doubt. Big bubbly white head on a clear golden amber body. Steady rising carb, though not a surging rush of it by any means. Crisp, clean pine, grapefruit, grass, and a hint of sweet malt on the nose. Medium body and tingly, active carb, though not too much at all for the style. Very dimensional and rich hop notes throughout the palate. Malt is there but it’s really just to encourage the hops if they start to feel shy. Wonderful stuff.

Bottle courtesy of biz82. Pours a slightly hazy bubbly copper with an average size diminishing fluffy off-white head. Aroma is big time hops, both citrus and floral. Flavour’s the same, big floral and citrus hops taste along with a good amount of sweet malt to balance it out and a nice long bitter dry finish -- delicious! Medium bodied. Very easy to drink and really flavourful, this is a top-notch session IPA.

Clear golden pour. Pretty stinky footy aroma mixed with piney hops. Poor malts underlie a nice load of hops, leaving this unbalanced. Clearly this rating goes against the general consensus here, so I may have got a contaminated bottle. I’ll have to try this again.

Bottled. Golden with hoppy, fruity and sweetish aroma. A bit too sweer with notes of grapefruit.

Amber and a bit unclear. Has a fine big head, mostly lasting. Good aroma, floral and perhaps peach-notes. Flavor is clear bitter, but also has a medium sweetness. Dry body.
