COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Aroma is pineapple, light grain, and some caramel. Cloudy amber pour with nice carbonation, thick yellow head, good lace. Solid grapefruit flavor, dry, and bitter. Weak grapefruit peel finish. Surprisingly good, but kind of unnaturally so.

12 oz bottle from MaltOMeal. Pour is hazed golden, settles nicely with a 1 1/2 inch rocky white head. Falls with pretty lacing. Aroma of faint citrus hops, bright bitterness. Taste is grassy orange citrus hops, slight bitter, mineral toast maltiness behind that, more grassy bitterness in the finish. Nice balance. Palate is medium, grassy dry, mouth coating, tingling carbonation. Nice one, thanks Bill.

12oz bottle. Filtered and lively, bubbling. Orange, copper hued. Finger of white head. Bright citrusy nose. Slightly doughy malty, spicy aromas. Fuller and lively. Crisp. Dry. Fruity notes. Spicy and zesty. Great full blown hop flavor. Fruits like grapefruit and apples. I really liked this brew!

Intense grapefruit and pine hop aromas and flavors. Malt is balanced and clean, with a med bitter finish. Gold-copper color with short head, fairly quickly dissipated but great lacing all through the glass. Overall, highly similar to Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - but not identical.

Flowery, sweet aroma, citrusy touches of grapefruit and lemon along with something like honeysuckle and pine. Faintly hazy golden yellow color, with a fine, uneven head and thin wisps of lace. Begins with a goodly amount of citric hop flavor and bitterness and actually becomes more malty as the flavor progresses, finishing on a honeyed, sweetish note, still blending with the everpresent fruity hoppiness. Mild palate, lightly creamy texture. An easygoing yet flavorful and quenching rendition.

On tap at Ashley's, Ann Arbor. Quite hoppy and creamy, minimal malt backbone, good bitterness but quite one-dimensional - pineyness without end.
