COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pleasant IPA. The kind of nice, hops-driven beer to get you through a night with friends or a good basketball game. A rare Colorado treat.

a little light colored for an ipa, more yellow than a dark amber or orange. Typical american hops aroma, lots of grapefruit, and citrus, with some pine. A nice amount of malt to balance in the flavour. A good IPA.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a few floaters. I poured it gentle so as to avoid most of the floaters, so the head is minimal. Nose is malt and wet grain. Maybe I have an older bottle and the hops have died down, but this is a really mild IPA hops wise. Slight lingering bitter aftertaste. Decent mouth feel. I’ll give it another try down the road and rerate if needed.

Poured a oily, fizzy orange amber from the bottle with a fizzy white head. The first aroma was strongly hoppy, overwhleming almost. The aroma then mellowed to an inviting citrus, hop and pine aroma. Initial flavor was bitter and the bitterness continued to the back of the palate. The overall flavor had a mouth watering citrus element to it that make me want to keep drinking. I thought this was very enjoyable, good session beer.

Good beer. Overpowering with american hops. Very hoppy taste. Light yellow in color with a nice head. Full bodied beer.

Deep golden, creamy off white head. Initial grapefruit aromas get followed up quickly with notes of earth, caramel, and lesser notes of pine. Had an almost 60 Min IPA nose to it. Well hopped flavors up front with no real bitterness to speak of, soft sweet caramel backbone rounds it out. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter-sweet, drying finish. Drinkable for sure, but definitely not a top notch IPA...

Bottle. Pours a light golden-orange coloured body with a large frothy white head slowly receding leaving lace sheets. Beautiful IPA aroma - tons of orange citrus oil and doughy bread. Big hoppy bite up front...sharp and piney for the most part with an underlying creaminess. Long and chewy bitter finish. A solid IPA! Purchased at Bello Vino in Ann Arbor in April 2006.
