Pours a light golden color. Has a slight hoppy aroma. Medium bodied with a dry hoppy finish. Not as bitter or hoppy as I had hoped.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2005 This is a very enjoyable IPA. The color is golden and the head is large at first then dies down. The lace coats the glass well. Very nice looking.
Smells of citrus and passion fruits under a slightly medicinal malt backbone.
The taste is reliable. I definately am getting my hop fix here. Orange and other citrus flavors are very prominent. Clean and crisp but very thin in the mouth. This is a solid IPA.

Bottle. I liked this one quite a bit. It pours clear amber-orange with an average sized creamy head that mostly diminished but left good lacing. Aroma is light bready malts, with a heavy grapefruit hops that jumped out assertively. Moderately sweet with a mild caramel malt flavor upfront. Big bitter hops come on strong leaving a crisp, dry hop finish. Light to medium body, watery texture with lively carbonation and astringent feel in the finish. Nice beer, but could use a touch more maltiness to balance the hops galore!

Pours a glowing golden light brown with a small white head. Smells of big hops and grapefruit. Quite a powerful aroma for just a regular IPA. Tastes of big bitter hops, grapefruit and other citrus seem to be on the back burner. Hops are pretty much up in your face. Defintely a nice drinking session IPA. Good showing here.

12oz bottle. Pours a pretty huey orange/yellow body.. looks like a hefe. Nose is heavily citrus, orange peel, lemon/lime, and pine. Robust hop flavor, less piney and now grapefruit citrus tang coupled with some doughiness. Bitter finish which is a must to be good in this style. Citrus, pine, citrus 3.75
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 22, 2005
Light bronze with a creamy head and awesome lace. Avery knows how to give it’s drinkers good head! Mellow hops that are mostly citrus and flowery. Some orange and the crystal malts give a good backing. The grapefruit comes out for the citrus in the flavors. Nice hop bill. Again it is nicely balanced. The malts are not too pervasive. Tangy with a lingering maltiness on the tongue which finishes bitter.
