COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

(draught - Flying Saucer, Little Rock) medium amber with small white head and nice lace. Citrus/grapefruit aroma. Nice citrus hops flavor, decent malt balance.

Large head, clear golden. Pungent Cascade hop aroma. Big hop punch up front, good bitterness throughout. Long bitter finish. Very well done IPA.

I don’t know what it was, but the sample I got of this beer was pretty awful. Clear golden pour with a small sudsy white head. Diaper and rot, turning to dirt, citrus, and dankness. Flavor is actually much better. Citrus peel, orange, grass, and herbals with a medium palate and low carbonation.

bottle - deep golden body with a white head - floral hoppy nose - not that massive like a lot of other american IPA, nice hoppy and moderate fuity flavour

This was a pleasant surprise. Big floral and fruity aromas. I think there is a hop that this totally reminds me of. It may be simcoe but I need to find out for sure. Very fruity, piney, and pungent aromas and flavors. Very similar to Sweetwater’s IPA. Pours a great golden color, so much that you wouldn’t think this was an IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2008 An average IPA. Pours, pale, translucent copper, small head, crappy lacing, smells like weak hops. Pour it all over yourself after you’re drunk. Smells like mild hops, tastes the same. An even keel running IPA. If you need to run on an even keel, and IPAs are youre thing, then, drink this Avery. Cask version runs the same.
