COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Poured a clear light copper color with a thick white head. Hop aroma more earthy and grassy, as opposed to real sharp citrusy aromas. Taste is dry with a decent hop finish and no realt malt character. A decent IPA.

Very light hop aroma, very light color, didn’t look to promising but the taste was 98% hop, not overwhelming but devoid of any malt taste and a nice treat for a hophead like myself

Clear dark gold (verging on light orange) in colour with strong carbonation. Huge C-hop aromas of pine, black pepper, and grapefruit. More of the same in the mouth, only that the citrus flavors are a little less specifically grapefruit, and there is a sweet buttered biscuit element that makes an appearance mid palate. The chunky bitterness gets smoothed out a bit by the somewhat sweet malts. Good stuff.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 (11 Dec 05) Bottle. Poured a clear golden color with an inviting white head that mostly lasted and produced great lacing. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, and flowers. The flavor follows the same with pine and citrus but has malt undertones. Dry texture with a nice IPA bitterness. 7-4-7-3-15. (23Aug08) Draft. Orange in the glass with a creamy off-white head with good lacing. Nice grapefruit and pine aromas. The flavor was very fresh; pine, grapefruit, caramel. Medium body with a moderate bitterness throughout. 7-4-8-3-16. A great IPA, even better draft than in the bottle.

slightly hazy orange/gold with a fluffy white head. Plenty of floral hops with light malt aroma balances out with it. lots of hop bitterness up front, spicy hop taste, and a sharp finish. Crisp

Bottle. Aroma of huge meadowy floral hops with citrus hops in the background. Flavor remains flavorfully hoppy with those floral notes, good malt presence, but nothing sweet; highlight on the hops, and a well done highlight. Big flavor and still very light and forgiving on the tongue. Very nice stuff.

Nice IPA. Pours amber with a nice off-white head. Aroma is of intense hops and grapfruit. Obviously, the taste is very hoppy, grapefruity with citrus, pine and good malt backing. Mouthfeel is very full, thick, round with a nice bitter aftertaste. Nice lacing on the glass. Highly recommended. Reminds me a little of Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' IPA.

Musty aroma of citrus, golden IPA with lacing some spice in the flavor. Could some Saaz hops have slipped into Avery IPA? Comaping my score with others., I’m not much of a fan of this IPA as other raters.
