COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Hoppy bitter aroma that also brings some fruit. Flavor starts fruity and hoppy, but then the hops is growing stronger. Bitter finish.

Clear golden colour with a small off white head. Hoppy, fruity aroma with a touch of pineapple. Flavor starts light caramel malty, then becomes more hoppy and bitter with a dry citric finish.

Pleasant looking .Small hue of particles, creamy white head. Aroma; superbly developed, wild rose, medium acidic hops, meadow flowers. Soft yet very distinctive sure of it self. Flavour; All that hops need some malt support and here they have it. Good? No, great, lucky to have another great, superb composed IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2007 Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark yellow. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, lightly to moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily bitter, lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Very citric, grapefruit-juicy. Not my thing, but good for what it is.

Dry hopped version fresh at the Brewery. Pours a hazed bright orange copper and a thick massive sticky white head. Aroma is fruity tropical notes, lots of citrus, pine, mint, grass, centennial orange citrus, and some cascade lemon hints. Flavor is light cara malts, mostly fresh hops, leafy green, light phenol, good citrus, pine, grapefruit and lemon and a clean finish. Nice- a bit better than regular tap, and way better than bottle.

Slightly hazed dark golden color with a big bubbled rocky off white head. Ruby red grapefruit aroma everywhere. Some malt sweetness at the very tip which is quickly swept away with the hops oils. Grapefruit and pine tree flavors dominate with litle malt to back them up. Actually feels thinner as the brew warms. An americanized IPA - More Hops + Less Malt = No Balance.

Slightly darker than straw hue, small head and good lacing. Piney and grapefruit aroma, undertone of spice and herbs. Starts off bitter hop, grapefruit tang. Mellows out on finish, smooth for an west-coast style IPA. Dry and lively mouthfeel, thin to medium-bodied. I'm surprised but the low average score, I'm found this to be a very approachable beer. Recommended for hop-heads and non hop-head alike.
