In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

This was my #1 pick when I used to frequent the hop haus. It tastes like a christmas tree. Very citrusy and super hoppy. Goes down very easy. Great IPA right up there with stone ruination.

Nice, standard IPA. Deep gold color. Piney and floral hops. Light carbonation, medium bitterness in a medium bodied IPA. Just fine.

Pours clear orange with a large white head. Smells of citrus, hints of pine. Taste is bitter, juicy citrus, hints of maltiness. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Avery IPA finishes with a lingering juiciness.

Good aroma but hop flavor is somewhat overpowered by maltiness. Certainly decent, but there are better IPAs, no question. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Did not like. Malt flavor was off. Hop character was missing in quality and quantity. Can’t say that I like Avery beers.

Pours hazy gold. Decent head dissipates quickly to skim. Aroma of trop fruits, pine and fresh citrus. Taste is peach, mango, pine, caramel malts and OJ. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish bitterness lasts well. Good canned IPA.

Incredibly bitter beer in both aroma and flavor. OK bitterness which fills the anterior and upper part of the mouth for a long time. Far from what my taste buds like. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Old rating: Pours golden, with a big creamy head. Aroma is bitter hops, with pine and orange peel, as well as some roasted malts, and a touch of oak. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is citrusy hops with grapefruit and orange peel, as well as a good roasted malt backbone. Lingering bitter finish.

Gold in color with an ivory head and is very cloudy. This beer is very hoppy with grapefruit notes. It has a medium body and is rather soft.
