COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Purchased at Gomer’s of Kansas. Pours a copper color with a white head. A nice strong hop aroma, grapefruit, and some floral aroma as well. Tasting some grapefruit around the hops but not too much. Finishes crisp with hops and is a great IPA.

Holy smokes this stuff is good. I could drink this all night long... hoppy, grapefruity, great mouthfeel. Truly a great IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2008 Cask drawn, this among the best IPA’s I’ve ever had. Full rich flavor, huge hop nose and flavor, nice crisp bitterness, and a wonderfully thick and foamy head. I only wish I could get it like this all the time.

I like this IPA, good flavor and aroma. An easy drinking with a smooth finish. Great for a sunny late afternoon.

mmm, mmm, mmm, nice tangerine hue, some clouds with white foamy fluffy head, nice lacing, smell of hay and some pine, looks like citrus fruit and tastes like sweet hop nector, medium body and carbonation, nice balance, not overly biitter. Just very drinkable, over and over.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2008 This is my favorite IPA. On tap: light copper color with piney hop aroma. Heavy carbonation but the balance and taste of hops is the best. The hop flavor is smooth but at the same time sharp while it lingers with goodness. The flavor consists of pine and citrus notes. For some reason I prefer IPAs to be light in color like this one. Nice looking beer and because the carbonation is very noticeable before drinking, based on appearance you can tell it is quality.

Poured a nice orange with little head yet good carbonation. I think we need some color classes here at ratebeer as this beer is described as pale yellow to amber...that’s a huge range. Anyhow, the aroma was floral and citrus hop notes with dominant citrus. The flavor was just awesome all hopes with some pretty outrageous grapefruit notes. There is just a slight balance of malt which makes this beer great, but it is mostly hops as they kinda smack the malt down and say...not in my house beotch. The hops are just all over the place throughout this beer but there is never a puckering bitterness that leaves you with old man face...just smooth for an IPA. A great beer that deserves an even higher rating.
