An strong aroma of hops, citrus, and resin. The taste is of hops, citrus, resin, and a hint of raisin with medium-high bitterness (guessing 80-90 IBUs). A very good brew, almost an Imperial IPA. Amber color, thin head. Medium body, soft carbonation. Great IPA, comparable to a Sierra Nevada Torpedo. The nose really stood out in this brew, love it.

Citrus, pine and a mild nuttiness in aroma. The flavor is citrus hops with some pine mixed in, with the finish being a mix of hop bitterness a decent malt background. A very good IPA, the flavor had a great hop bitterness throughout.

From a can. The appearance isn’t totally on style being light amber, but it does taste amazing. Avery knows how to brew a great IPA. It’s crisp with an awesome malty taste. This IPA is an instant hit, great eastside IPA or (colorado’esque IPA). I’ve got the maharaja waiting, and i can’t wait. It’s balanced as hell!!!

You have to visit the Avery tap room and enjoy Avery IPA. Dugana and Maharaja are great ales from the tap room too. Avery IPA is my first choice, however. The dry hopped is on tap too. You’ll never go wrong with Avery IPA from the tap. It don’t get no better.

Pours like you would expect of an IPA: a dark orangy balance, thin head and translucent (no yeasties).
Smells lighty of hop, lots of floral notes. Taste matches those notes, with a *ting* of citrus.
This is a good, balanced IPA. Well done, Avery Brewing.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 chumba526 (6) - Washington, USA - JUL 3, 2009 does not count
Avery I.P.A poured a golden crisp color; it had moderate foam: head was about an inch. It smelt moderately of grassy pine tasting hops. The carbonation is not over the top or overly flat; it has perfect carbonation for an American style IPA. The taste remained loyal to the smell; it was crisp and refreshing. This I.P.A had very mild malty bite, which allowed the flavors of the hops to be showcased. There was a slight citrus sourness followed by a moderate bite of hops. This belongs like Stone IPA in the ranks of America’s best I.P.A’s. I cannot find anything really to complain about, concerning the beer. This is an American IPA which does not try to be a double or imperial IPA; it is simply a simple nearly flawless IPA

This beer is a hazy yellow-orange with a small white head and good lacing. Has a sweet citrus and floral hop aroma. The taste begins smooth, grows bitter, then finishes dry.
