4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Aubrey (3125) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 3, 2000
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2004 Glowing orange with a frothy, lasting head. Lively nose. Lovely mouthfeel: not too thick and syrupy and not too light. Sweet, cookie malts accented by very charismatic hops (floral, piney, grapefruity). Dry and bitter finish. Wonderful IPA!

Pleasant looking .Small hue of particles, creamy white head. Aroma; superbly developed, wild rose, medium acidic hops, meadow flowers. Soft yet very distinctive sure of it self.
Flavour; All that hops need some malt support and here they have it. Good? No, great, lucky to have another great, superb composed IPA.

light straw color with a fluffy white head. aroma is floral and grapefruit - pungent hop aroma. flavor is biased towards grapefruit citris hoppiness - and plent of it. mouthfeel is resinous and chewy - very good. this is an excellent IPA with the fine flavor characterists of the 3 Floyd's Dreadnaught IPA without the brutal ABV.

I dont know what to say. could it be that i havent had an IPA in so long, or is it really this good? Huge, wet hops in the nose. the taste was medium bodied thats just awashed with fresh hops. its so chewy and bitter, bready bitterness like a fresh batch of bread dipped in grass shavings. the hop assault doesnt let up.

Golden amber color. Strong white head. Floral to grapefruit aroma. Then came the hop attack. It attacks the tongue and never surrenders until the wonderful citrus aftertaste. Still a very smooth and appetizing beer. Another outstanding beer from Avery, well done.
4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Christian (8034) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2006
Golden beer with a medium white head. Intense and complex aroma, with hops, lemon, peach, flowers (jasmine?), and pine. There is a hint of flowery sweetness in the flavour, but it is quickly dominated by bitterness, as it should be. Long lasting hops aftertaste.
I drank it from my third favourite glass - I wonder what magic it could have done in my favourite glass as it demands...

Pours burnt orange with small white head with great lacing. I am a total jerk. We just scored on an interception returned for a touchdown and I am typing this @ the commercial. We are dominating. Again, this rating is skewed by the fact that UGA is dominating LSU. This is a good beer regardless of if you are dominating or being dominated.
Go DAWGS!

Crystal clear orange hovered gold. Thinner medium head of dusted white froth. Keeps a fine skim and thin partially bubbly collar. Thin lacy sheets coat the glass with some icicle patterns.
Aroma is pretty nice here. Some wiffs tend to be stronger then others but stays generally forward and invitingly crispy with citrus. Comes across dry and pungent with a light cannibis stink with mixing notions to old citrus rinds of lemon, grapefruit, and nectarine. Some smokey fresh wood notes in there too. An interesting nose that no doubt has some hops to it.
Taste is welcoming with a clean profile of well-rounded paled citrus upfront. Tenderly dry with a fresh biscuity dough centering. Kinda crispy and crunchy yet smoothly balanced. Fine finisher, the citrus really turns the corner on the palates’ back end. Bitterness is squeezed in with a semi raw citrus rind/peel sourness thats adding more well placed dryness. It tends to be parchingly subdued in its strength but very nice to let coat the tongue and palate with fluffy little hop bits.
Feel is about medium with a smooth clean texture and carbonation. Has a good portion of balanced dryness in both hops and malts. Favorable finish helps add to the fun of what is conceivably the best part of its character.
Overall an overwhelmingly fun IPA to drink. More then one will be needed as its citrusy dry nature and clean, snappy drinkability won’t be a problem as it glides down with ease. One of Avery’s better beers.
