Lighter orange body, with a nice lacy head. Strong citrus and hoppy aroma - very pleasant and robust. A hint of ash as well. Dry and crisp. Highly grapefruited flavor. A tad tart, and although its not very sweet at all, it is quite refreshing. Overall, not disappointing.

A lot of citrus in both the aroma and the flavor. Nice bite on the finish. A good IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2004 Amber color with smallish head when poured in a St. Bernardus tulip glass. Beautiful floral hop aroma. The flavor is a sweet floral bitterness that is just incredible. Nice dry finish. Had it again @ Blind Tiger through Randall, which I didn't care for. Had it again on Randall and still didn't like it.

This is a good quality IPA. Not the best I’ve ever had but I could enjoy one of these on a daily basis. Pours a nice copper color with a decent sized ivory head. The nose is a citrusy hop scent. With a smooth creamy texture and citrus hop flavors that aren’t overwhelming. Simple but good.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2003 Not a huge fan of the IPA style in general but I can still appreciate them. Aroma is bitter and hoppy with a bit of tart fruitiness. Appearance is amber in color and certainly inviting. Flavor is bitter and hoppy with a touch of sweetness that makes the flavors go well together. A good IPA but not my favorite.

Smells isn’t too hoppy or floral or citrusy, but okay. Nice meringue head that tastes good. Flavor is dominated by bittering hops, too much so. Still the very aftertaste is somewhat smooth and enjoyable. Good, just not great.

Pours a cloudy amber with a big frothy white head. Aroma of orange peel and pine. Flavor is quite piney and bitter, with a creamy maltiness backing it up. Palate is smooth and crisp. A very nice IPA!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cobra (1076) - In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA - AUG 21, 2003
12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date noticed. Poured out an exceptionally clear golden yellow color. Fast fading off-white head left a thin lacing on top of the beer. Aromas right away of Cascade hops. Some maltiness also detected. Fresh cut grass aroma as well. Tastes a bit metallic at first, then the hops kick in. A weak malt backbone struggles to keep up with the hoppiness of this brew. Coats the tongue with a syrup-like consistency. Finishes bitter, and slightly metallic. A good beer overall, but the metallic taste detracts from the overall experience.
