COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

smooth, crisp and clean. Has a great finish. The fresher you can get it the better.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 I am re-rating this beer, because along with joes pils, I had to try avery IPA out of a can. This is still one of the best colorado IPAs, and now out of the can, it has escalated to modus contemption. Better aroma and better flavor have put this always great IPA into a new echelon of superiority. Love the can design, and love the chuggability. Avery has done it again.

what an unexpected treat. this was such a nice IPA and I really wasnt thinking it was going to be anything special. really nice floral notes off the bat, and matched with the citrus/pine flavor in the aftertaste. Will definitely look out for this one again.

Had it on tap about a year ago and really enjoyed it, but decided to review this one from the bottle. Poured into a standard pint glass, comes out a very light amber color. Has some decent clarity with a very slight haze. White head that went away fairly quickly, with a little lacing to the glass. Smell is very good, smell of hops, strong citrus, and a slight floral aroma as well. Taste is very good much like the smell, hops and citrus, mostly a grapefruit. Mouthfeel is good and clean with a slight bite from the citrus. Drinkability is good as well. A very solid IPA, I got it at a bar but would definitely get some for the house.

What a great IPA. It is well balanced and the hop flavor is so well balanced. Not overly hopped like a lot of IPA’s are now. for a high ABV it is very drinkable. And I like the new labels. Great Beer.
