3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On cask at the Petrol Station in Houston. Avery has a lot of experience casking this beer, and I think it’s probably the most common cask in Texas - the Austin Flying Saucer seems to have it at least once a month. The color is somewhere between straw yellow and light amber, with an eggshell head. Surprisingly clear for a cask - it’s bright. The nose has pineapple, a little grassy tone, and a bit of citrus rind. The flavor as a whole is fairly dry for an IPA, with a fairly distinct bitterness - it honestly sticks out a little. Not much sweetness to be found in this one. I’m really not sure whether to call it a hop-centric beer or an unbalanced beer. Overall, it’s not bad, and it’s certainly good for quenching one of those hop cravings we beer lovers seem to get from time to time.

Current house beer at home. Lovely IPA. Hits all the bitterness and straightforwardness you want at times.

Pours a light orange like a lager. Has a faint aroma of malt and light hops. A major flavor and aftertaste for an IPA with some citrus hops.

Nice IPA. Smells nice and malty with a cutting of hops. Not much of a head but a nice clarity. A rich biscuity malting with citrus and some tropical fruit. Hops a good level. A good session ale

Decent little mid-west IPA. Can. Dated 13279. Translucent, deep golden pour. Great lacing throughout glass. Subtle nose of orange citrus, delicate florals and cat piss.. Flavor is more intense then nose. Big, bitter flavors of orange citrus, grapefruit pith, florals and resinous herbs. Lingering resin/citrus bitterness on the palate. Nothing to complain about for the price. Solid.. worth trying if available.

Had this sucker in a 12 oz bottle. Pours out a copper/orange. The aroma is a mixture of heavy hops and fruit. You get a lot of grapefruit in the aroma. The citrus really hits you hard with the first sip. But there is also a sweetness mixed in with the citrus that gives it a good balance. The aftertaste is very hoptastic. The aftertaste really lets you know it’s an IPA. A strong hop taste that lingers for a while. A very good IPA. In my honest opinion, I’ll be going back to this one on a sunny day.

Poured from 12oz bottle, crystal clear golden with one and half fingers of white foam. Excellent lacing persistence. Soapy hop bitterness with a slight grapefruit finish. The soapy taste dissipates as it warms.
