In the 1700’s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

This is a great ipa. I immediately liked the flavor and I found the bitterness smooth and not overpowering. When I taste a beer I want to taste it and this one delivers. There is a meat to this balanced beer!

12oz brown bottle into a Geordie Schooner glass. It poured a nice clear light orange amber colour with weak white foam. Mostly neutral grainbill, very faint Munich caramelly and bready notes, very little residual sweetness, emphasis definitely on the high-alpha American hops (I believe: Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook.) Sharp resiny bitterness and intense aromas and flavours: black currant fruit, lemon peel, cedar chips, honeysuckle nectar, unexpected nutmeg spice in the aftertaste. Light-medium body, strong carbonation, snappy dry finish. Tasty and true-to-style American IPA. No wonder it’s one of the best examples and such a successful flagship IPA brand.

Bottle - good size cloudy head, clear medium gold color, big citrus and pine aroma and flavor, mild malt backbone, typical IPA but still very good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear blonde. Not much head. Smell is grassy with a fruity undertone. Taste is bitter, grassy, fruity ( more than the aroma) . Slightly malty in the undertone. Ok beer, but not as refreshing as I like an ipa to be

Crystal clear golden color. Tropical fruit and resin on the nose. Taste- much like the aroma, you get the tropical fruit notes along with some lemon and grapefruit. Also ample caramel malt backbone. A long bitter resinous finish. Above average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An excellent IPA, purchased at "Liquor Direct" (aka D.E.P.’s Liquora) in Covington, Kentucky. What can I type... this is a rich, full-bodied India Pale Ale style brew, with the citrus/clove true IPA taste. I like it!

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The Avery IPA pours a clear golden yellow with a hint of orange with a decent creamy beige head that lasts a long while. The aroma is wheat, citrus, floral and caramel. The flavor is citrus and floral up front with a bit of wheat blended in and a nice caramel finish. Overall this is a nicely balanced IPA with plenty of hops and enough malts to lure in the non-hop heads.
