Tap @ Avery. Pours a cloudy light yellow appearance with a white head. Pils and pale malty lager aroma. Pils malty flavor with a bit of a hop bite and the yeast adds a touch of fruitiness and some complexity. Pretty bitter finish.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sammy (6113) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Wow what a pilsner, this is at the imperial pilsner level. Cloudy unfiltered grapefruit looks. IBU 50 and very tasty, good bitterness, carbonation right there and still above average mouthfeel. Yeasty. Thick lace, big head and one quarter inch head. Very drinkable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 3fourths (6385) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 8, 2010
hazy wheat body with a small white head. lively and zesty honey-tinged sweet biscuit and cracker pils malt. medium carbonation (lacks the fizziness of earlier filtered batches), more smooth/creamy than the filtered version as well, and has a distinct american hop greenness (and sharp oiliness and pungency). much improved body and mouthfeel over the filtered pils, though still a little too green/sharp/acidic with the hops, but that’s a minor complaint. I’m just happy enough to drink unfiltered lager. this is how they should serve joe’s every time.
