Beerenberger (783) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Aroma of earthyness and grass with hints of citrus in the mix. Pours a clear light yellow with a robust somewhat lasting white head and clingy lacing. The taste is chiefly bitter. Earthy flavors, hoppy bitterness, and floral notes all combine to produce a nicely flavored brew. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Overall, an easy drinker. Slightly more bitter than some other Pils I’ve had, but all the same, I would definitely drink this one again.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Hotel glass (half pint, half snifter) From: Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo. Price: Part of a variety 6-pack for $9.99 Purchased: May 2, 2013 Consumed: May 3, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured golden straw clear color with 1-2 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles brewing. Average lacing on the sides of the glass. Nice retention on the top on the way down. Smelled a sharp whiff of spicy malts that almost immediately went away. Doughy bread came to mind. Also corn and hay. Those spices were lingering on the nose after. Much more flavor in the taste compared to the nose. Very smooth. Bread, lemon grass, dough and cereal. Still those pleasant spices, which I can’t name. Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Smooth, refreshing, clean finish. A pretty good pilsner overall. I would definitely have it again.

EtTuCthulhu (374) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAY 1, 2013
The aroma combines scents of floral hops, bread yeast, and sweet dough malts, and the appearance is a very pale yellow with a large white that dissipates quickly. The taste and palate are both quite light, which is nice for a summer beer; indeed, the flavors are slightly bitter, slightly sweet, and a touch bitter, and the mouthfeel is made up of a light body, thin texture, slightly bitter finish, and a soft carbonation, which goes above and beyond what you expect from a pils.

Nice pils. Lager odor of malts but with hops. Golden color with white fizzy head. Clear. Good light palate with average carbonation for the style. Hoppy taste that made it more like a pale ale. Reminded me of Sam Adams IPL but better. Hops added bitterness and dryness for a clean finish. Nicely balanced.

JStax (1665) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - APR 19, 2013
Poured on draft. Pours a semi hazy pale yellow with a white head of foam. Aroma is much more floral and yeasty than I anticipated. Upon first sip, that hop bit hites and then fades to a pleasant neutrality. Somewhat bready in the finish. Nice Pils.

Aroma primarily of hay with some fruity hints, like apricot. Tastes of apricots, hay, grass, and earth. Nice bitterness bite, yet still quite smooth and easily drinkable. Well-made pilsener.

Golden pour from can. Taste is light hops, hay, malt and grain. Balanced and very flavorful for a lower abv beer. Nice.

355ml can from The Beer Cellar. Great looking can. Very light lemon rind colour with a soft white head. Looks a bit thin and watery with grain aromas. Quite a strong flavour and the body is a lot stronger in the mouth than it looks in the glass.
