3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2014 Cans, 2012 and onwards, most recently Summer 2013
Good retention on the white head, topping a clear, very carbonated pale golden body.
Spicy and deeply herbal hops are fresh, bright and show little to no acidity. Sparse maltiness adds only light honey and the beer smells very crisp and inviting.
Bitterness zips through the palate, with well-attenuated malts adding a light white bread and honey maltiness that provides enough balance and texture and lets the hops do most (all) of the talking. Fresh herbs, light citrus, and tons of spiciness lingering on the finish, with some moderate but not overpowering acidity. Carbonation is quite stiff, but in that sense, keeps it very refreshing and drinkable. Pretty straightforward, with a little dearth of malt depth, and the filtration, while allowing the hops full reign, does take a little away from the texture. Still, tough to argue with this hoppiness and drinkability when you’re lookin for a quenching beer.

Can to glass. Pours brilliant light gold, crystal clear, one inch of soapy white head. Fair lacing. Nose is flowery noble hops, a little grainy, just a wisp of sulfur. Bready, tangy palate, mild hop kick, biscuity, hay, grass. Super clean.

14 karaté pour with a small ivory head that left some lacing in the glass. Clean, crisp, well-executed pilsner with a nice leafy, green, citrusy note. Assertive yet fits well into the style. Will definitely buy again.

Simple, yet elegant. Good for chugging, or for craft beer newbies. A decent, if unspectacular, pilsner. See how it went down: http://teamchug.com/?p=71
