3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ROGUE (1315) - Newark, Delaware, USA - AUG 12, 2009
On tap at brewery. Poured a golden orange with a dense one finger head. Aroma is grassy, floral and is slightly citrus with a straw note. The taste is light and ever so fruity. There is a bit of tartness in the initial taste and a sour note but overall this finishes dry with bits of lemon and slight spice. A high carbnation and dry finish bring out slight hops. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Slightly hazy orange pour with a decent sized white head, average retention, not much lacing. Aroma is yeasty fruity esters and spice, barnyard funk. Flavor is a little on the bland side, unfortunately. Starts off with the carbonation and peach/apricot sweetness which leads to a mildly tangy finish. Smooth medium-light body with moderate carbonation and no alcohol warmth. A good session beer but mediocre overall.

12 oz bottle served in a tulip glass. Poured a hazy yellow/orange with three fingers of thick white head. Though there was a load of head on this brew, it dissipated rather quickly and left little lacing. Nose is Belgian yeast, malts, and a very light fruit ... perhaps it was apricot. Taste is the same as the smell, and is quite mellow and pleasing. Not great in any respect, but pleasant none the least. This would make a great session beer.

Bottled. Thin off white to tanish head. Unimpressive yellow to orange body. Unbalanced sweet/bland finish. Alright beer

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper. Not so sure about this one. It’s quite drinkable yet it seems to be missing something. For the most part it just reinforces the concept that if you want a belgian style ale you should get one that was brewed in belgium.

Pours a slightly hazy deep golden color. Rocky white head which quickly settles. Smells of fruit and spice. Some initial lemon and coriander seed. Taste is slightly sweet and a bitter sour finish. Light on the tongue with lots of big fizzle.

Light copper pour with off-white head. It has your typical Belgian yeast aroma., hops, malt sweetness. Pleasant tasting, malty, yeast flavor comes out at the end. Nice and refreshing as I sit outside. Nice lacing.
