COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe in Karma. We suspect most of you do, too. It truly is a global concept. Very simply put, "you get what you give." Inspired by this principle and the wonderful farmhouse and pale ales of Belgium, we’ve created Karma Ale, a decidedly fruity and estery ale, intricate in body and nose, all driven by a unique Belgian yeast strain. Remember, good things DO happen to good people. Here’s to being good!

NIce hoppy aroma with some malty notes. color was fine more of a slightly dark amber. A variety of flavors on the palate leaves it a little confusing. SOme hop notes, malt flavor comes and goes. some spicy overtones ring in to the end. A decent beer but thid was in the bottle. Maybe on tap more than the aroma comes through. Karma not so good.

Nicely hopped but somewhat off funky tasting Belgian pale. There is fruitiness there. Minty toothpaste drying aftertaste, with pepper and coriander. Some yeast aroma. Orange copper colour.

On tap at the Avery 12th anniversary party. What a pleasant surprise. Copper with a white head, this beer has a hoppy aroma - slightly grapefruity with a hint of mint. Somewhat spicy. Taste is cripsy and mellow. Not much of the hops makes it into the taste. Not that that’s a bad thing for this beer. Very dry feel, rather like champagne. Kinda of a crispy, malty champagne. I liked it.

Cobra (1100) - Banned City, - AUG 7, 2005
This beer deserves a much higher rating than it currently has. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Still very fresh though. Poured out a hazy orangish copper color, with a thick, sticky tan colored head. Aromas are of a classic Belgian pale ale. Fruity, dense, aromatic. Mouthfeel is thick & rich. Flavors are of fruity bubblegum, slight hops bite mix well with the malts. A more than decent take on the Belgian style.

jgentgesdo (668) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 6, 2005
Pours slightly hazy golden-red with a thin tan head that quickly diminishes with average lacing. Nose is flowery hops. The flavor starts more towards the malts, with a biscuit malt flavor. Some mild pine resin comes in later, along with a spicy almost pesto flavor. Unbalanced in that the malt and hops do not complement each other. Ends rather watery but with a reasonable aftertaste. Probably a good session beer, but I don’t like it much.

On tap @ The Brew Kettle: Off white lasting head on a medium amber, fairly clear body. Clove and peppery spice yeast w/ a moderate caramel malt character. Toasty malt and slightly bready w/ melanoidin aromas; Medium, non distinct fruity esters w/ some floral hop as it warms. Well balanced flavor w/ some spicy and peppery yeast w/ light banana esters. Bready malt w/a finish that is a bit on the dry side and malt flavored. Aftertaste is lingering w/ a bit of spicy flavors from both yeast and hops. Hightly carbonated with a medium body and dry m/f. Another so-so beer from Avery. Not bad, but nothing outstanding IMHO. I thought the keg version of this had a little more life to it than the bottled version, but it is still nothing special.

Bottle. Amber gold in appearance. Medium head with quick dispersion. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. Spicy overtone to taste, but fairly good. Malty, fruity and yeasty. Reminds me of north coast Pranqster, but not quite as good.

Dorwart (2374) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - AUG 3, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2005 Thin off-white head. Good carbonation. Aroma of roasted corn, with a little fruity hops. Color is a medium orange. Light bodied. Crisp on the palate with light fruit and maybe a hint of lemon. Little bit of spices are abrasive on the tongue. Finish is dry and a little bitter but pretty clean. An ok beer but not a good quality belgian ale. Second try. Not as harsh and a little bland but pretty smooth.

Pour is a nice honey color with a white head. Aroma is has a very sweet quality to it with a nice hoppy backbone. Flavor is also sweet and slightly citrus but altogether the taste is very bland. Give it a try but nothing makes you say wow.
