Witbeer with Passionfruit

Luscious. Juicy. Tart. And like no other! Adding a tropical island flair to a spicy traditional witbier, Liliko’i Kepolo erupt with monumental passionfruit aroma and acidity along with a sublimely succulent finish.

Cloudy golden yellow with a pure white head. Stinks like noni fruit. Taste is more tropical like passionfruit. Tasrtness develops on the backend. The aftertaste is tart and powdery. It doesn’t really lave either.

On tap: The aroma consists of tropical fruits, grass, and a hint of dank notes. It’s a hazy dull golden-orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with tropical fruits and pineapple. The finish has light-moderate grass, orange peel, and a tart lemon. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

This pairs well with seafood. The liliko’i aroma is very pronounced in this brew. It really smells like a fruit drink you might get in Hawai’i. The taste is very similar but invites some tart fruit flavors paired with a subtle wheat body. Finish is tart with lingering fruitiness and low carbonation. Overall, for a fruit beer it’s excellent. You really couldn’t ask more from the style. Try it with breakfast: sunny side up egg, rice, pan fried tilapia, and of course spam...ono, brah!

On tap at OB Warehouse. Slightly peppery phenolic aroma with a light tangy fruit. Murky yellow under a thick, white collar. Flavour starts like a typical witbier, with light phenolics and coriander, but rapidly evolves into a tangy, lightly citrusy passion fruit and grains of paradise. Medium body, moderate carbonation, midway between crisp and smooth.

Can. Funky awesome. Crazy, fruity, tarty. Awesome quencher. Appearance hurts rating, but that's just the style. This beer is awesome. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a tulip snifter. There’s a bit of barnyard funk on the nose early, but it settles into a strong passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and banana fruit with a slight clove and pepper spice and an undertone of bread dough and a touch of soda water. The beer pours a murky banana yellow with a white, dense, thick fluffy soap head that’s active and unstable, leaving only a light retention and a runny lace. The taste is a medium high sweet, medium sour, and a light bitter spice. The texture is slick with a light fizz carbonation and medium light body that’s tart with a fruity and juicy profile containing secondary wheat and pepper flavors. It finishes with a tart tropical fruit juice note and a spice crispness with a sour candy zip. The aftertaste is astringent and lightly cloying with sour candy and banana notes as well as a spice freshness.

Draught at Tip Tap Room, July 2015.
Hazy pale gold with a small white head that is fully dissipating.
Light passion fruit dryness in the nose with a touch of dry limeskin, wheat and a bit of coriander. Sweetness held in check for the most part, with round bubblegum-like esters on the end. No alcohol, no flaws.
Tart, lightly acidic and quite nicely done on the passion fruit. It’s authentic, not sugary or syrupy and adds a dry, earthy, yet mildly tart fruit flavor. Moderate carbonation, light lactic suggestions, tons of wheat dryness and mild citrus on the finish. No alcohol or flaws noted. Fine.
