Witbeer with Passionfruit

Luscious. Juicy. Tart. And like no other! Adding a tropical island flair to a spicy traditional witbier, Liliko’i Kepolo erupt with monumental passionfruit aroma and acidity along with a sublimely succulent finish.

Sample at the Avery Tap Takeover at 4th Street Patio Bar and Grill on 09/26/2012: The beer is a hazy orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit and bready malt. Light-bodied with a tasty passion fruit character and floral and toasted malt notes. The finish is sweet with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

I would almost say this is a sour, and it's glorious regardless. So tasty and tropical. Will have to find more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz can. 4pack. Hazy, really hazy, yellow -tan body. Thin, creamy , head. Really passionfruit juice forward. The Pina Colada of beers. Over the top juice adjuncts, really leaves most beer aspects behind. Undeniably a tasty beverage, but so are most things full of passionfruit juice.

This is exactly the same as one of my favorite beers, 5 Rabbit 5 Lizard so I love it. It’s tart, light, very fruity and very refreshing. Not traditional at all but delivers 100% of what you want from the style.

Can. Hazy milky yellow with a huge white head. Aroma of lemon, grapes, passionfruit, corriander and hay. Sweet-sour, fruity, dry, flavors of passionfruit, lemon, spices, guyava, earthy. Light-bodied, fizzy and easy drinking. Cool

Pours bright yellow and opaque (like the new RB icon on my phone) with a thick white head. Aroma is passion fruit all day long with some fermented funkiness. Taste is passion fruit, passion fruit, passion fruit! The Belgian spicy stuff is just background noise giving the witbier a little extra substance. Pineapple does make an appearance after the main show. Well done. Best wit I’ve had, no doubt.

On tap at the brewery as I never got to try it in Japan. Liliko’i kepolo Cloudy light gold with a big tart passionfruit aroma. The taste is tangy passionfruit, wheat, & cloves. Delicious.

Sample at Studio 35 on 4/17/16. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma of passionfruit, creamy wheat and some tartness. Sweet malt and passionfruit flavor with a creamy wheat finish.

Fun can. Wit bier appearance. Unpleasant aroma. Smells like jalapeño, old socks, boiled peanuts. The beer was just a failure. I kept getting vegetal chilis, raw and under ripe. Lightly sweet, tangy. Wet brown paper bag aftertaste, sloppy mouthfeel. I expect more from Avery. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz can. Hazy, light golden pour, clingy, off-white head. Aroma has some passion fruit accents, a touch of coriander spice. Flavor runs along the same lines as the aroma. Nice tartness with some bubble gum hints in the finish. Nice spritz to the mouthfeel.
