Bottle, batch 4. Pours a midnight black, touches of brown along the edges, medium, milk-chocolate head that lasted through the first few hits. Aroma is subdued, faint nuances of malt, chocolate and a touch of coffee. Alcohol hits you right up front with the first hit, burnt malt, faint notes of chocolate and coffee lingering under the alcohol burn. Finishes sweet and lingering burnt malt. A lot going on with this one, I have an ’06 sitting in the cellar, may have to break it out and see if some age mellowed it at all.

Jan 4, 2010 Bottle. Batch 4. Pours, smells and looks amazing. I’m sure there’s complexity in there, but I couldn’t find it. Just as soon have a shot of whiskey and a coffee.

Dec 27, 2009 Flaske: Batch 2 fra 2006. Flot sort øl med et overraskende pift da øllen blev åbnet. Fint brunt skumhoved. Duft af malt, molasse. Smagen er alkoholdomineret, men heldigvis bakker mundfylden med en god karbonering op for den megen alkohol og gør oplevelsen til en ekstrem en af slagsen, men dog god. Chokolade er også tilstede, men det er alkoholen der har hovedrollen, en hovedrolle som den dog godt kan bære.

Dec 23, 2009 Batch #4, poured oily black out of 12 oz bottle with a deep brown crown that dissipated quickly. Chocolate and coffee was thick in the aroma, and the taste starts with bitter chocolate and coffee and moves into the darker fruits. Amazingly hides the alcohol well, this stout is a beast! Highly recommended even with the price.

Dec 20, 2009 .batch 3 Bottle. Nose is alcohol, coffee, roasted malts licorice. Wow. A powerful but very tasty beer. Strong, thick bodied. Full flavored. Some sweetness. Hints of licorice some vanilla. A hint of burn but easy to drink for 16% drinks like an espresso port. Really enjoyed this.

Dec 18, 2009 Huge beer. 2006 vintage. Even with three years on it the first sip was a choker! A good imperial stout taken and cranked up to 11. Chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and alcohol. Oh and a little soy sauce on the finish. Just one of those beers were you just stop and really appreciate the beauty of such a brew. A special beer and am very lucky to try it. Thanks Geishabrewer!

Dec 13, 2009 Black oily pour with a thick burnt tan head that laces well. Nose is thick with sweet overripe fruits. Taste dominated by the warmth of the abv, dark fig, current, plum. Warms you down to your toes. Never bitter or harsh. Great stout!

Dec 12, 2009 12 oz. bottle- I thought I would pick something special for my 200th rating, so I picked this. Pours black with a good tan head and good lacing, a beautiful beer, aroma is malt, caramel chocolate, but suprisingly not alcohol. The flavor is different, the alcohol is abundant, excellent, it has a smoky flavor with chocolate almost as an afterthought, but nothing is an afterthought in this perfect brew. This should be enjoyed while watching a good horror movie, in the dark if you dare.
