3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to JefVerstraete! 355 ml. bottle sampled @ “Hot & Sweaty RBBSG 2015”. 2014 Vintage. 17.1 % ABV. Black, light brown hue, no head. Nose big syrup, milk chocolade, candy, feels a bit considering the ABV etc. with some umami notes, milder than expected light varnish-like booze note. Oddly the beer is a bit over-carbonated. It is a bit fizzy, taste feels a bit thin, considering everything, tastes of boozy molasses, roasted coffee, mild burning alcohol (but as heavy as one might expect), strong finish of bitter coffee, roast, molasses,… Thinner & fizzier than expected. There is enough in there to enjoy but it wasn’t very attenuated in my opinion. I expected a thick, more decadent beer than this. This is a very simple but it could have saved that if it carried a sweeter & heavier punch to it, this one felt quite weak considering the behemoth I was expecting.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at RBBSG, thanks for sharing JefVerstraete. Gorgeoys black with a brown, beige head. Tastes like dark cheap chocolate and thatMs really the only thing it tastes like. Melt chocolate, pour some water and alcohol in it, and done. Too one-dimensional.

Just had batch 11 from 2014. This is the way a high gravity stout should look and taste. Enjoyable from beginning to end. Drink this beer if you get the opportunity.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Black. Rich and roasty with dark fruit, mainly raisin. Sticky and too much booze. Probably better with more age.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from nov 2014. 17.1%. Pitch black pour with a mocha head. Roast, coffee, oak, wet soil, bandaid. Can smell alcohol. Feel the alcohol but the strong carbonation and the full body helps. Silky and creamy. Wow

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle to Tulip. Black/brown opaque, dark creamy head. Aroma and taste are so complex this is like a meal unto itself (check the calories!). Sugar, caramel, burnt, toasty, chocolate all stand out. Malt and nuts. Dates. Need I say boozy? Chewy. Lingering mouthful of dessert with espresso. Make sure you can give it your full attention.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, black body, decent walnut colored head fades quick. Aroma molasses, coffee, spruce, mint, cherries. Taste is molasses, anise, shoyu, plums, spruce, vanilla, bourbon, citrus rind, black pepper, mint. Fairly sweet at first, not saccharine really, and tries (really wants to be) but doesn’t quite make it to dry finish. Palate is very rich and thick, carbonation subdued.
