COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with average, creamy tan head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is earthy hops, roasted and chocolate malts, espresso, raisins, and light smoke. Flavor is ash and roast malts forward with supporting dark fruit esters, light earthy and pine hops, and dark coffee; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Black with ruby highlights, one-finger ecru head and delicate lace. Chocolate aromas with a bit of roast, dark fruit and earthy hops. Bittersweet chocolate flavors, roasted malt and a pretty sharp hop bitterness. Medium body thin and smooth mouthfeel, lightly carbonated, and a lingering roastiness.

Pours an opaque black from the bottle with thin ring of tab lacy head that sticks nicely. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, hint of earthy hops, and soy. Taste follows, add some coffee and a hint of bitter hops. Solid american porter.

Draft at Jerry’s. Black with decent, creamy tan head, no legs / Good, dry nose of coffee, chocolate, and weed / Medium body, creamy and moderately chewy, just a hint of sweetness but otherwise dry, with excellent balance and bitter finish / Solid but mellow flavors of molasses, licorice, semisweet chocolate, roast coffee, weed, prune, lemon, and caramel / Great stuff, better than many stouts.

Pours a coffee black of course, with a thin beige head. Aromas of roasted chocolate malts and some faint hints of hops. Not joking around with the dry hops because the malt character has taken a back seat in this one. Seems like they just can’t decide whether to call this a porter or a black IPA, and I’m thinking more the latter. A bit lighter than what I was expecting and not as complex either, but still highly drinkable.

12 oz bottle served in a snifter. Poured very dark mahogany with nice reddish highlights when held in strong light. Moderately durable tan head is creamy soft. Decent, spotty lacing. Aroma: Features orange and chocolate over a roasted malt base that was less strong than expected. The flavor is a bit richer and stronger than the aroma suggests even though the chocolate component is less pronounced than expected. Some herbal/grassy notes step in, and there are hints of coffee, burnt toast and smoke in the finish and aftertaste. Medium body, exceptionally smooth, well carbonated, but a touch watery. O: Not really a winter seasonal except in production schedule; nor is this a porter but rather a bit of a hybrid, hopped up "New World Porter". Good effort but falls short of a seamless hybridization.

Pours black color with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, dry chocolate, cocoa, licorice and mild hop notes. Flavor of licorice, dark roasted malts, tar notes and cocoa, some chocolate too. Very nice and dry porter.

On tap at Eddie’s Roadhouse. Brown-black in color with a tan mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts and a little bit of chocolate with a hint of hops. Flavor was similar to the smell with a fairly strong taste of black licorice. Mouth feel was pretty smooth, medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Overall a drinkable enjoyable porter.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of pine and roasted malts. Flavor is pine and roasted malts. Tastes like a Black IPA as the piney hops overshadow the roasted malts in both flavor and aroma.

Poured on draft. Pours a dark brown with a khaki colored head of foam. Aroma is earthily hoppy with a touch of roast coming through. Taste is an herbal coffee bitter. Interesting and bitter beer.
