COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Deep black porter with nice chocoalate moka aroma. Sweet chocolate, with Bailey's cream and vinous mouth feel, with alcool warmth. Body is quite good and intense!

Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Dense light brown head. Sweetish, chocolatish, light roasted, spiced and herbal aroma. Quite delicious. Flavour is smooth. Loads of chocolate and a mild roastiness in the flavour. Fruits is there, herbs are there and some vague spicenotes. Medium to full bodied. Quite dry mouthfeel. Balanced. Ends on a light roasty bitterness with some choconotes. Good one and just what I needed today after a long day at work.

On tap at Avery poured a clear dark brown with a large lasting tan head. Aromas of roastiness, cocoa, carmel, pine resin and light grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, roastiness, pine, light carmel and a hint of grapefruit with a smooth lingering moderatly bitter piney finish.

Nice hoppy nose. Roasty beginning, followed quickly by a nice hop surprise. One of my favorite porters!

Bottle. Pours black with a large, creamy, brown head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, toffee, nutty), average hops (flowers, grass), average yeast (leather, broth) with notes of dates, plums, and charcoal. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

It’s a very dark brown porter with a nice, creamy head. The aroma is very nice with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavour also has notes of chocolate with hints of licorice, coffee and a bit of dark fruits. IMO it’s a really nice one.

Very dark brew. When held up to white hot halogen, the beautiful crimson hue shines through. Lovely! Medium-sized khaki head. Creamy, but quickly dissipating. Decent lacing. The nose indicates a well-hopped beer with notes of flowers and pine along with dark chocolate, espresso and vanilla. Also, a beefy/spicy note of some kind... unidentified, but very nice. Deeply roasted and malty sweet flavor up front. Moderately bitter with more malty sweetness on the backside. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter-sweet, syrupy, chewy finish. Very good beer. I would have to say that my fellow Ratebeerians are right on the nose with their average ratings regarding this brew.

Very dark, red glints, almost black; brief beige head. Very milky malty aroma. Anna says it’s just like a malted milk drink she had as a kid. Thick sticky mouthfeel - full of burnt starches - tons of heavily roasted malt, feels like it leaves dust on my tongue.

A unique porter. Dark, dark brown, but light does pass through it. A nice tan head that lasts for a bit. Aroma is hops and more hops. Flavor is hoppy and a tad bitter. Strong coffee flavors are present as well...if you like dark beers and hops then this is the beer for you.
