A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Mohagany/garnet color with a glistening, rocky mocha head that cling to the glass for attention. Light treacle aroma - hops and malt fighting for attention, but don't seem to meld. Light malt, cocoa, german chocolate and burnt toffee flavors. Somewhat thin in feel, that does thinken as it warms. Finishes with a light bittersweet burnt flavor. A touch sweet and lack black malt bitterness (made up by the extra hops), but an interesting quaff non the less.

Black color , medium-size beige head. Malty , chocolate aroma of a porter mixed with aroma of the american hop. Taste is more traditional :malt , coffee, chocolate . However ,hop shows up again in the end, as the interesting mix of hoppy and roast bitterness.

One of the hoppier porters I've had. Good flavor, but it's hard to know how to rate it against its type. Mouth feel is smooth but lighter than most porters. .color is dark as can be. Creamy head gases quickly. Some coffee at the back end .on tap at Hay Merchant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: The smell is full of dried ripe fruits, raisins, dates and figs. Some vinous, port, aromas. Roasted malt, toasty and some coffee notes.
Appearance: The beer is very dark brown, almost black, a beige head that leaves good lacing.
Taste: The taste is rather sweet, fruits, sherry and coffee and cocoa beans giving some alcohol presence but mostly a good bitter finish.
Palate: A weak carbonation, smooth and a bit oily, a slightly dry finish.
Overall: A good porter, rather sweet.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep mahogany, near opaque , medium tannish head with okay retention and lacing. Nose is roast, cocoa, Java and some malt. Mouth is medium bodied, pleasantly bitter up front (and throughout for that matter), coffee, bakers chocolate, barley, pumpernickel, some soot near the finish. Very nice.

Under rated porter by avery. This one has a nice dank smell. Tastes super hoppy and slightly malty. Really easy to drink and tastes a lot like a black ipa. Pours black with a tan head. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
