Bottle. Pours deep mahogany amber with a large tan head that dissipates with decent lacing. Aroma is strong caramel malt. Flavor about the same, lightly sweet, medium kind of unpleasant bitter finish, almost zesty, light tobacco. Medium body. Warming finish.

How many ways can you you say dark brown? Not many. So we will just refer to this as light black. Strong roasted aroma of je ne sais quoi. Target pretense level met. Enjoyable coffee notes with a stronger than expected nose. I would encourage friends to give this enjoyable brew a try. I might order again if I see it on a menu.

Draft from Ridgeline. Its and interesting beer. Its better than it could have been because most spice christmas beers are ruined with to much spice. Not worth chasing but it was nice for a friday.

On tap at New Bohemia, has a nice fluffy head. Aroma and taste are of artificial hazelnut, it's alright.

A nice warming beer. Not a whole lot in the nose - maybe a hint of caramel. Strong malty backbone. I know they say there's no spice in there, but there's just a slight bite of something at the end....something....holiday-ish.

Malty aroma has fruity and subtle woody and nutty notes. Pours a clear chocolate brown with a fairly thick light cinnamon-tan head that doesn’t stick around too long but leaves some good lacing. Flavor has a malty core and nutty, caramel and woody hops notes plus a hint of sweet chocolate. Smooth texture has good body and fizz, quite lively. Start the party!
