COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 2 years.

Pours reddish-brown with soft white head. Aroma of stone fruit, sweet malt and boozy alcohol. Taste fruity sweet but dry leaving your tongue with a light oak bitterness. Overall a complex beer that is good to sip and marvel all of the great flavors.

From a 12oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy reddish brown with a thin white head. Smells of Carmel, toffee, and maple. Taste is somewhat confused. It has a moderate hop-like bitterness that is a little off and which is retained from the start to the finish and lingers Dow a while thereafter. It tastes a little like cloves and the original formula Listerine, not not I a good way. The alcohol heat is very apparent and doesn't add to the experience. Not a very good example of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask at Avery. Pours a hazy brown with very fine, off-white head. Good retention, rings of lace. Aroma is sweet and malty, some spice. Flavor is sweet, fruity, peach, apricot, spice, with a nutty, sweet malt finish, mild toffee. Soft carbonation, medium-light body, very smooth texture. Alcohol is essentially undetectable. Really like the smoothness of the hand drawn version. Tasty, smooth, and strong.

Ehhhhhh it's okay, probably not going to get again. It's a little plain, not a very crisp flavor. Good color though. The Derricks ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
