COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 3+ years.

Bottle from City Beer Store in SF. Great dark red mahogany color, poured aggressively but failed to get much head. Very ’clean’ aroma with chocolate malt, nuts. Taste of grape, cherry, caramel malt, a veritable bouquet of carbonation. Thinnish on the front but slightly chewy at the finish. I am going to stock up on this!!

Bottle from world beers. Pours a dark amber. Scent is a malty spicey one. Taste is malty also. Some spice, cinnamon. Pretty good beer.

Bottle into a pint glass. Pours a rich red/brown, with a medium light brown head. Nose is malt and caramel, and the taste is the same, with notes of hazelnut. No spice, which is nice for a change. Finish is smooth. Nice.

Good. The malt part tastes a bit like Fuller’s ESB. Delicious malty nose. Lots of toffee. Balanced with hops. Not very complex, but well-crafted. Recommended.

P: Pours a ruby cola appearance with a vast community of floating specks. A small short lives bone colored head that fizzles down to a lizard skin cap. S: Right away cherry NyQuil floods the nose. Dark fruits create a sweet sticky aroma, holiday fig pudding, dank grains, clove, hints of star anise and cola. T/M: Lots of spice up front, roasted grains, astringent cherry booze, slight oxidation, dark fruit and bitter pears show up toward the finish. I also get some bubblegum, pomegranate, white grapes and under ripe persimmons that create that buttering chalky bite. Body is medium and a tad on the thin side with velvety carbonation. Once warmed the finish is similar to a box of crayons. O: A great old ale in a six pack. I love that this isn’t a pricey bomber and its well executed. Tons of figgy goodness with cherries, booze and spice. A nice holiday treat. Serving type: bottle

12oz btl. The pour is a great looking clear mahoganey rust hue with a nice finger of frothy white head. Subtle sweet malty aroma. Big smooth mouthfeel flavors of toffee (for sure) and undertones of dark friut. That sweet flavor continues into a a crisp bitterness and that evens out into a nice lasting finish. Maybe I’m just pumped to be drinking a Christman ale but I loved this one.

pours clear and dark amber with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is lightly malty of cookies, heavly hoppy of grapefruit and hints of grape. Flavor is lightly sweet and heavily hoppy with an average finish. Medium bodied creamy and lively.

The smell is floral and toasted malt. The color is light copper hue. The taste is full body malty hoppy beer. With a clean and easy finish. Enjoyed this spicy christmas ale.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear translucent mahogany, with a thick, lasting cap of light tan head that leaves tremendous crusty lace. Aroma is all deep, dark malts bounding in spicy, nutty, and woody notes with some pronounced fruit notes as it warms. Full, rich flavor dominated by a toasty malt character but balancing toward bitter and boozy into the finish. Complex flavor profile, but well balanced; not jumbled. There are nuts, holiday spices (nutmeg, cinnamon), toffee and vanilla notes. Medium bodied and smooth, with a very nice warming finish. I forgot how good this stuff was...just a great example of a winter warmer.

12 Oz. Aged .5 years. Pours a beautiful dark amber with medium off white head that is slow to subside. Aroma of slight funk and nut. This beer has some seriously tasty malt charactor with not a whole of sweetness and just enough hops to hold everything up. Finish is of slight coffee sensation.
