3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark chestnut with red shine. Slight, light-brown head. Nose of grapes, raisins, vineous and hops. With warming up, there follows a smell of kaffirlime (peel, as in Thai cuisine). Taste are grapes, tobacco, some bitter chocolate, and lots of hops, but well balanced with dark malts. Very chewy mouthfeel. Retronasal gives nice tobacco-and-hops, long, but after a quite long time, a new impression of sweet chocolate emerges. What impresses me most in this beer is its very succeeded balance.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from 2010. Pours deep reddish brown with very creamy tan head, aroma is full of raisin, toffee, figs, some spice, touch of cocoa, very complex and layered. Taste is just as delicious with notes of bitter aged hops, some toffee, dark fruit and spice notes intermingle and lead into slight chocolate, finished with lots of deep toffee, molasses, and bitter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Clear copper color, minimal cream-colored head. Webby on the surface. Decent lace. Very drinkable, light carbonation. Gets substantially better after sitting a bit. Typical christmas spices. A decent christmas that improves after it warms. Nothing particularly outstanding or unique, however.

Special thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Smells sweet and fruity with cookie malts, cherries and hazlenut. Beautiful dark red-brown color with some small particles floating around. There is a small creamy head with excellent lacing. Taste is of chocolate malts and is somewhat bitter at the end. Taste reminds me of a Porter a bit. Medium to full body with a dry mouthfeel and a bit too fizzy carbonation. Overall very good!

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear amber brown with a deep gray head that dissipates to the edges and laces nicely. Aroma has notes of caramel and sweet grain with a hint of backing toffee. Flavor begins with a hint of bread and grains and finishes with sweet grains, a bit of hops and toffee.
