COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 3+ years.

Poured a dark red to brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma is quite malty with dark fruits and caramel/ coffee notes. Flavor is a sweet malt mixture of nuts and dark fruits with a bit of hop bitterness. Not much of coffee in flavor, but enjoyable none the less.

something bitter in the aroma that i just didnt care for, but the taste made up for it...for me, the taste of cold coffee was overwhelmingly obvious in the finish

This beer was sampled thanks to the kind heart of beerguy101. This one poured a cranberry/cherry color with a slight head with patchy bubbles...the color a slight hint of tan. The aroma effervesced cranberries and orange peel with big smacks of maple syrup. Canada would be pissed if they knew how much maple syrup aroma went into the making of this. There's also a hint of tea leaves in the aroma. The taste smacks of a few spices, something on the order of ginger, and a heavy dose of oranges and lemons. Some hints of sweetening malty qualities come in near the end, but not enough to truly make an impact. Something was left to be desired, but still enjoyable.

This brew pours with a deep amber body topped by a thin head with little lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with slight alcohol esters and a hint of caramel. The flavor is sweet and malty with a slight roastiness, a touch of caramel and very slight alcohol notes. Full bodied and smooth.

Pours a very dark clear ruby red with a thick off white head. Aroma was lightly malty with a hint of sourness. Alcohol very prominent in the taste which has notes of chocolate/mocha, roasted malt, dark fruit and nuts. Leaves a slightly burnt aftertaste. The body was disappointing - medium light with very subtle carbonation. Decent.

Smells like oak-aged gym socks. No, really. Disappating tannish head, largish bubbles, dark reddish cloudy body. Medium mouthfeel, lingering bitterness on swallow with a coating, sticky feel. Taste starts with tannins and light citrus, moves into roast/ash accented caramel (no toffee, I am sad), and finishes as above. Okay.

Sweet malty aroma but I did detect a bit of spice to it. Dark body but when held to the light you will see a mahogany color. Small tan head that left lacong on the glass. Falvor was of sweet caramel with a good balance of alcohol. Left a sweet dry aftertaste taht I didnít care for but a good beer.
