COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 3+ years.

Very clear dark brown with an off white head. Carmel malts but not much else in the aroma. Flavor is mostly roasted and sweet carmel malt, quite sweet, almost too much. There is a good finish and presense.

Georgious dark and auburn colours, lasting head. Moderate spicey aroma. Intense taste, well carbonated. Well to drink with spicey food. Good malts throughout to balance out the flavour, and noticeable hops. Dry finish. Citrus and cherry and vegetable aftertaste.

Pours an Amber brown color with tons of particulate matter floating throughout. It has a short caramel colored head.aroma is dominated by caramel. Mildly thick mouth feel. Just a bit of carbination bite in the back of the throat. Toasted and caramel malt forward.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2015 Reddish brown pour, slight head that fades quickly. Aroma is sweet, high mal (toffee), slight fruit. Palate is smooth with a semi dry finish. Aprreciated the absence of spices considering its a quality that is typical of the winter beers. Flavor was pretty flat with straight sweetness with a slight nuttiness towards the end. Fairly simple overall.

355ml bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with a small head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee, syrup and sugary sweetness. Taste is sweet, malty and syrupy with some toffee. Finish is sweet, heavy and warming with loads of syrup, toffee and caramel. Too sweet and messy.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2014 2014 bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, nuts), lightly hoppy (apricot), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Rather quiet nose this year, caramel and not much else. Sweet and fairly syrupy in the mouth, drinkable but barely. Kinda surprised that even the brewers like this as-is...seems phoned in this year.

bottled. certainly quite christmassy, aroma of raisin and a fair whiff of alcohol which was a little brandyish. quite sticky, decent roasted bitterness, a bit too sweet and with a little slighty rotten tang in the finish but still warming and pleasant

Subtle Aroma and Flavor. Crisp, Hoppy...Fruity? Hoppy Ending. Not My Favorite Winter Ale.

12 oz bottle via trade w/ Sprinkle. Pours a dark ruby with a thin foamy 1" head. Mainly malty nose with supporting notes of spice, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor is malty with minimal hop presence. No hint of spices that the nose indicated (after reading comm. desc. I guess I was right). There is some oxidation here as well. Lighter bodied with soft carbonation. Not a bad Winter Warmer, but rather thin and bland to my tastes. I’m wandering if maybe this was from last years release. I might question their "cellarable for 2 years" claim. This just didn’t seem big enough to stand up to any significant aging.
