Tobacco spit brown with pillowy, frothy eggnog head. Nutty aroma, slightly sour and a little hint of something I’m not altogether fond of. Light coffee roast, dates, raisins. Smooth nutty flavor, again with some medium roast coffee. Quite a bit of malt complexity in this one. Slightly salty too, with a bit of a metallic edge. Dryingly roasty finish with some dark chocolate mixed in, warming. Pretty unique and good.

Jul 13, 2008 Pours a brilliant mahogany with a creamy ecru head. Aroma of brazil nuts, light spice, and black tea. Nice flavor; rich but light enough to be quite drinkable. Very nice.

Jul 8, 2008 Like Fullers 1845, this is a seasonal. But like that beer, it is not a traditional spiced holiday ale. It is a well brewed strong ale. Aromas and flavors of toffee, brown sugar, and roasted malts.

Jun 24, 2008 Pours a great head, the colour of the beer is dark red. The aroma is malty, with hops and roasted barley. Flavor is very good with roasted barley and hops.

Jun 19, 2008 Pours with a MASSIVE head that fluffs like whip cream. Dark brown. Smells of cinnamon, brown sugar, and spices. Warming and sweet with a dry finish.
