Coffee-like roast aroma. Brown complexion. Incredible chocolate meets brown ale flavors and excellent bitter hop finish. Notes: Brewery visit during ’09 GABF

On tap at RNH. Pour is dark red/brown with an averaged sized tan head. Aroma is heavy on the toffee with hints of molasses, caramel, and pine hops. Flavor is of roasted nuts, caramel, and burnt sugar. Pretty good, some bitterness to balance out the massive malt.

Forgot how good this was, got one out of the cellar, about a year and a half of age on it. Very roasty malt aroma and flavor, hints of marshmellow and nutty, slighty sweet finish. Thats is all, have a good night.

Bottle; Dark Brown, Amber hue, with a modest fine bubbled khaki head in this glass. Decent retention, and some nice lacing here. The nose is nice; caramel, toffee, nuttiness here. There is a bitterness out of the gate; fruit esters, cream, nuttiness, caramel, toffee notes. This is a nice one overall ; it’s not the most refined brew i’ve ever had, but it’s a nice one.

Bottle pours brown with an off white head. Aromas of caramel and molasses and brown sugar. Tastes similar. A touch of sweetness. No hoppiness to speak of. Lasting impressions of brown sugar. A decent beer

Pours a dark reddish brown with a short head. Spotty lacing. Smell is dry, alcoholic, and with stone fruit and apples. Taste is very dry, and a little sharp with alcohol. Hops are quite strong and bitter. Light mouthfeel.

aroam, nutty, and deep malts open into nose some toffee, color, deep reddish hue, white head, taste, was really surprised, very malty, the brew takes on a coffee, toffee, type taste very rich with a mild semi sweet chocolate aftertaste, overall, neat brew really warms you up!
