Commercial Description:
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

Easily, one of the better dry stouts I’ve had in recent memory. Avery can be hit or miss with me and this beer hits pretty damned close to dead center. The pour is fantastic. Deep black body, creamy dark tan head, nice lacing..near picture perfect. Aroma is big on roasted malts, some coffee beans, black cherries, vanilla ice cream, and molasses. Flavor has some big bitter coffee/dark chocolate notes, a long lingering bitter finish (like chewing on a coffee bean). The bitterness really stays with you several minutes after drinking. Mouthfeel is very coating, slightly cloying but not bad. Fantastic beer for the style. Love the bitterness it brings.

Tasty, but fairly thin. It was definitely a good beer, but again, not a GREAT beer. Fun label! Good flavour, but needs more body to truly impress.

Great beer! Pours opaque black with a tiny, tan head. Aroma is very rich, extremely roasty, coffee-ish, and malty. Flavor is similar, with a lot of roasty, coffee bitterness that is very nice. There is also a decent hop flavor toward the finish, but nowhere near the "mountain" that’s in the description. Palate is average, light and fine carbonation.

Shared this with MereLikesBeer. This pours an opaque dark brown with tan head. The aroma is strong coffee, while the flavor is more of chocolate. I liked this alot, and the price is right. Cheers!

I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617 today. Only my second Avery product. As I am not the biggest stout fan to begin with, I don’t know that that was a good idea. Myself I like a sweeter stout, but this was ok for an average stout. It is very well balanced and sits well with my palate. Overall the taste and aroma don’t exactly translate. It smells a lot like a dark coffee, very roasty and a bit sweet, however it tasted more of chocolate - which I thought was a bit different. Generally speaking it’s a pretty decent stout again. I would consider it for purchase again :)

Puts a dark brown, not quite black. Notucj of a head, but nice lacing. Aroma is surprisingly grainy - oaty and sweet molasses. Tastes just as grainy as it smells, nice sweetness balanced by a hearty roastiness. Yum! Slightly thin body with more carb than it needs, bit overall, a nice stout, a definite cut above the rest.

Nice and drinkable. Balanced taste and aroma. Sweetness, nice level of roast and bitterness. Smooth and creamy. Solid.
