COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We arenít afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something youíve been looking for in a beer.

Aroma - there is a bit of nuttiness, some roast, and coffee Appearance - body is black. The head is about 1/4" and off-white settles to foam quickly. Taste - has good roast, some coffee, a bit of chocolate, and some toast. Palate - body is medium, the texture slightly creamy, the carbonation lively, and finish has some bitters coffee.

A decent stout. No particular stand out attributes but it has good aroma, appearance and taste. Thatís all it needs.

12 oz bottle acquired from commonshawn. Poured into pint glass. Assertive roasted malt nose bringing to mind coffee and dark chocolate. Tannish head that quickly dissipates. A pretty obvious black color. Taste places a heavy emphasis on the roasted malt/barley characteristics as you would expect from a stout. Itís reminiscent of a bitter coffee that probably could use a touch of cream and/or sugar. Itís a relatively thin mouthfeel with a slight oily texture towards the end probably as a result of the hops incorporated. That aftertaste definitely wants to linger. Iím not finding a ton of complexity to this one but I have a feeling thatís what Avery intended. A straight forward representation of a stout that fans of the style will likely appreciate more than myself.

bottle. Black with one finger head. Thereís nothing particulary flashy about this. Just an classic stout that is done right. Big malt body with chocolate and coffee notes. Very smooth and creamy. Excellent for the style.
