Commercial Description:
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

Bottle.Pours a dark brown, almost coal color, with a three-quarters inch tan head that dissipates after a few minutes. Roasted malt aroma with tones of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is a nice, deep roasted barley flavor, laced with dark chocolate and a hint of espresso. Soft mouthfeel, kind of creamy. Great stout! I’d like to pair this brew with a hearty beef stew (cooked with some of this stout) and a good bread, on a cold and blustery night, along with a good murder mystery book and a healthy fire in the fireplace.

Bottle. Pours tar, tan head. Aroma is roasted chocolate anise coffee. Now there’s a mouthful! ;)

Flavor is all of the above and more. This is pretty creamy and toasty, nice dry bitter finish. Good stuff in my book!

This was an unexpected treat and I look forward to enjoying this one again in the forthcoming autumn and winter months. Coffee colored body with a thick chocolate foam head. Starts with wafts of moderate oatmeal and chocolate milk and a tad of sawdust. The oatmeal and roast chocolate grains become more pronounced as it airs with twinges of coffee aromas titillating the nostrils as well. What a rich, full-bodied, superlatively tasting stout. Wonderful chords of oaty chocolate, dark chocolate, roast barley, and refined coffee bitterness. This brew immediately catapults into my top 5 stouts. Endlessly quaffable.

From Villa in Storrs, CT. Nice black color with a thick milkshake head. No thrills, just simple bold coffee & dark chocolate tones. Very malty, strong flavors despite it’s low ABV. Tasty dessert.

A fairly straightforward beer - not to say simple, just direct. Aroma is absolute coffee-charcoal. Flavor is that plus deep dark chocolate. Striking flavor, especially for a 5% beer. Don’t know why it isn’t more highly rated.

12oz bottle. black color with a frothy medium sized light brown head that stuck around for a while . fair bit of lacing also. strong aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and toasted malts. first thought on taste was it was thinner than I expected (for some reason). pretty much a bottom of a cold cup of coffee taste. with a slightly acidic bitter finish. was hoping for a bit more out of this.

THE taste and aroma of count chocula cereal. creamy chocolate powdered sugar and vanilla with a moderate and nice hop input.velvet palate a combination of a good stout and a good hoppy amber or pale ale what with the interesting black and red highlights. a pretty good hybrid and a creation that is to be appreciated but still just a bit off balance. clearly a knowledgeable brewer taking on a challange this beers different flavors morph in you’re mouth. a must drink for advanced beer tasters.
