Nice dark pour with a volupuious tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste was the same with a little more maltiness and a bit of burntness. Very smooth brew with a nice clean finish. I’ve had better stouts but this one was still real good. I deffinitely wouldn’t turn one down if it was offered to me. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor is dark chocolate a roasty coffee flavor, some smoke maybe. Finish leaves a bit, almost missed it, bitter and dry. Decent, but not my favorite.

Not a lot finish. Seemed to have a bit of sweetness to me. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 19, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a semi-lasting and dense light brown head. Aroma is chocolate malty, roasted and light chalky. Roasted malt flavour, quite acidic toi bitter with a vague chocolate smoothness. Mild fruity notes into the finish. Somewhat without balance and too simple roasted flavour to great. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
