elgiacomo (64), Ringgold, Georgia, USA Nov 23, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a thin dark brown with a small fizzy head, almost like cola. Looks black once in the glass. Aroma is roasted, smoky, with a bit of a funk I can’t quite put my finger on. Flavor is sweet chocolate up front followed by bitter coffee. Dry, bitter, smoky finish. Lively carbonation. This is rather thin, although the mouthfeel ends up being somewhat creamy despite the thin body and high carbonation. A nice solid dry stout. HenrikSoegaard (4263), Randers, Denmark Nov 22, 2007 Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good fully lasting head. Dark brown colour. Powerfull hoppy and moderate malty aroma. Very roasted. Moderate bitter flavor. Heavy bitter moderate finish. Many nice burnt dark chocolate notes. Oily palate but way too fizzy. Jayb0 (750), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Nov 20, 2007 Big roasty milk chocolate aroma and an appetising thck rocky head. Full bodied and delicious, light chocolate and coffee throughout with nice hop balance and nice toasty dry finish. Excellent. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Nov 18, 2007 pours black with big tan head and nice lacing. Malty aroma with roasty, malts, and chocolate flavors. Dry finish. As this beer warms it becomes more complex. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Nov 4, 2007 Bottle from Flanagan’s in Appleton. Pours viscous and black, with a thin tan head. Gorgeous! The aroma was sweet chocolate, coffee, roasty malts and toasty malts with a light floral hop undertone. The flavor was bitter-sweet, roasty and toasty with a moderate coffee element and a light undertone of silky chocolate. The finish was long, roasty sweet coffee. Marvelous!
