BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 26, 2007 Draft. A deep brown color with a half-inch tan head that left excellant lacing. Some chocolate on the nose. Initial taste is strong roasted malts and some chocolate. Light hop finish. Decent stout. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Bottle. Pours a very deep ruby-brown with an average size diminishing creamy tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and a hint of smoke. Dry flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, nuts, some hops and a light roasty/bitter finish. Medium bodied. A very good Porter! Icommonsewer (122), TUCSON, Arizona, USA Aug 16, 2007 this was unimpressive with a bit of an after bite. there are so many other gret US stouts like 8 Ball, Blackhawk and the robust Steelhead Extra. go for one of those others instead thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Aug 10, 2007 Pour is a black with a small tan head, Aroma is super roasty but not much else. Flavor is about the same, a super roasted malt with some dark chocolate. Leaves a roasted aftertaste on the tounge after the bitter finish. scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA Aug 6, 2007 Tap. At the 14th Avery Anniversary party. A heavy brown malty stout with a malty, but burnt barley taste. A nice malty syrup finish. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Aug 3, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours seemingly black (ruby at the edges) with a good sized tan head. The aroma is Chocolate, roasted malt, and sweet caramel. The flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, some coffee, and light hops. Dry, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, just not a standout. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 26, 2007 Updated: Jan 26, 2008Bottle at Jerry’s.
