Commercial Description:
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

Pours black as night with a two finger khaki head that dissapated quickly.lots of coffee and chocolate aroma. Flavor is full on day old cold coffee in all its bitterness.Finish was hoppy, bitter and semi dry.

bottle - Pours very dark brown to black with a huge tan head. This one took a long time to pour. The aroma is roast malt and chocolate. The flavor is more roast malt with light chocolate notes and high bitterness for a stout. It’s full bodied and seems very carbonated for a thick stout. The finish is dry and bitter.

Bottle from Hollingshead Deli; Nose of lightly roasted coffee with chocolatel clear, very dark brown with a smallrust tinged, tan head; flavor of coffee and a little hoppy bitterness from the medum-light body, some light bitterness for the finish. I’d love to be skiing out of bounds as the label picture shows! Good stout to drink in the summer!

Dark brown body body, ruby tinges around the edges, under a puffy cocoa head, plenty of lacing, rocky, looking good for a stout. Aroma is sweet and roasty, lots of espresso notes, nuts, chocolate...nougat, caramel...it’s a candy bar, nearly, more I sniff it...toffee! Me like! Taste: just right. Full bodied, big on board the palate, bittersweet, tart yet again chocolatey, very cocoa-licious! Hmmm, mmm! Quite satisfying, full flavored, with huge hops, tempered by roasty chocolate malts...mmm, mmm...I quite like it.

Poured from bottle...first reaction to the aroma is wow!!!! Very roasted and bold. The tan head is great with nice lacing and staying power. Smell reminds me of roasted coffee and chocolate and beckons to a camp fire. The flavor is one to knock you over...very tasty and full...chocolate....Mmmmm...this is a bold and thick beer...Very tastey.

12 oz bottle pours black with a tan head. Aroma is strong, roasty chocolateness that smells great. Like a Guinness on steroids. Smooth, rich, creamy, full bodied taste that’s still very drinkable. Bitter chocolate. Roasted malts. This is very good. Another good beer from Avery and one of the best I’ve had in the style.
