Commercial Description:
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

Thanks to McBackus for this beer. From bottle. Poured pitch black. Opaque. Fizzy brown head, that mostly fizzled away, but some stayed to lace the glass. Aroma was of chocolate, roasted malts, and orange peel. Flavor was huge burnt coffee notes with barley, malt, and hops. As it warmed the suttle chocolate notes came more apparent before being completely taken over by the burnt coffee flavors, with some hop bitterness in the end. Carbonation was lively, medium mouthfeel and easy to drink as long as you like a strong cup of black coffee in the morning.

Black-brown pour with tan head. Roasted malt nose and roasted malt flavor. Flavor also hints of burnt coffee. A little chocolate and licorice, but bitterness is much stronger. Medium body. Dry finish. Stronger and richer than classic dry stouts.

A very nice stout on the whole, with a good strong roasted malt character in the aroma and flavor, fullish body. I’ll note that while some have been criticising the over-use of crystal malt in IPA that ought to be hop-oriented, I’m going to start complaining about the over-use of finishing hops in what out to be a malt-oriented style, that being stout. The piney/citric finishing hop was nicely constructed, but sometimes I just want a stout that emphasizing the dark, burnt, roasted coffee/chocolate flavors that derive from the malts.

Black with a light brown head. Looks like a stout to me. Lots of roast and coffee in the nose. Hops creep through in the flavor. That’s a nice surprise. Tons of roast and coffee and bitterness. I’d like a bit bigger body, but this is fine. Well made. Tastey.

12oz bottle. Black and pitch with tan head. Thick ring. Coffee and dark chocolate vanilla nose. Full with a bitter coffee flavor. Sweet toffee and nice bitter finish. Vanilla note with a nice dry dark roast to the malts.

Clean dark reddish brown color. Strong aroma of roasted barley with a hint of raisin. Slightly dry, earthy flavor tending neither toward chocolate nor nuttieness.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark cola with a beautiful mocha-colored, thick head that leaves great lacing. Smells very beefy, and much like chocolate and earth. Semi-active carbonation. The beginning taste is very bland, with a good smokey and earthy chocolate mid-taste with a slightly hopped up finish. Then there’s a grassy chemical taste that brings down the score quite a bit. Dry and somewhat astringent on the tongue.

A very smooth stout. Has a strong burnt, nutty flavor and aroma. Finishes a bit watery, but the lingering taste keeps you coming back for another sip.
