Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark Nov 22, 2005 Near black body with a fine though disappearing light brown head. Rather heavy roasted aroma with obvious coffee notes and a sweet hint of chocolate. Roasted flavor as well with a burnt touch that bides on the tongue. Rather hoppy with coffee and chocolate in there and a good bitterness in the end. Flavorfull still easy drinkable. Very enjoyable. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Nov 21, 2005 Lovely roasted aroma, some sweetness, notes of milk chocolate and freshly ground coffee. Very dark brown body with a medium sized whipped off-white head. Roast all over the flavor, light grainy, very burnt, ends on a hoppy note which turns into a bitterness which last quite a while. Good stuff. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 20, 2005 Bottle. Black colour with a big baige head. Light roasted, chocolate, coffee aroma and a sweet chocolate, coffee taste. jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 17, 2005 Dark carmelly color, almost like Coca Cola, with a whispy tan head. Big roasty nose when I opened the bottle that only got sweeter and more complex as it warmed. Very roasted grain taste, with a lasting bitterness that reminds me of ashtray, but not in a bad way. Chocolate, burnt toast, and a little celery towards the end. Solid stout. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Oct 28, 2005 Very dark brown, nice tan head, very nice roasty chocolatey flavor, like it being only 5% it really makes it taste better than an imperial, i’ll get another one of these soon. walleye (876), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Oct 26, 2005 from the bottle. poured a dark brown to black, with a small tan head, that left a small amount of lacing. aroma bitter sweet chocolate, malts, coffee, brown sugar as it warmed got some hops. flavor that chocolate jumps right out there than a nice balance of malts, brown sugar coffee and got some honey. a very good beer. SuIIy (1405), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Oct 16, 2005 12oz. Pours a dark opaque color with a small tan head. Nose is huge mocha. Taste is thin and watery, very disapointing after a good nose.
