| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a very thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with a bit of yeasty bread mixed in. Roasted barley, bitter chocolate and unsweetened caramel taste, seems to fall flat in the finish, really dry. Thin but sticky mouthfell, leaves a very bitter and distinct aftertaste. Average. kenter2000 (11), , Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2009 perhaps I am not properly versed with dry stouts but it looked like a stout, smelt like an abbey ale and had little taste. Hard to distinguish taste. ashy, dry, watery, malty. Dark and Opaque. Nice head. Great appearance. very unusual. cblado (146), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured a dark, opaque black with a thick tan head. Aroma was malty, kind of astringent cheese. Flavor was odd, kind of fruity and yeasty like an abbey ale. Palate was thick. Overall this seemed like a novelty. I’d try it again, now that I know what to expect. screigh (260), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Bottle. Pours an opaque black with a fast fading tan head. The nose is chocolate and roasted barley. -Taste is dark chocolate, roasted barely, black coffee and some bitter hops in the finish. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Good stout. elihapa (1051), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a cappuccino cream color head. Aroma is of velvety milk chocolate, vanilla, and wood chips. Wow, not unlike some imperial stouts I’ve had! Flavor shows some coffee with heavy cream up front; not much of the sweetness of the aroma. Palate remains subdued throughout. Some dark chocolate comes in through the mid-palate, though so does some roasty, bitter flavors that act to keep the beer far left of sweet. Finish continues roasted flavors, adding dryness to the final mouthfeel. Overall, I LOVED the aroma, found the flavor nearly as good, and felt let down a touch by the palate. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark brown pour with a thin off-white head. Roasty aroma with some coffee and hop. Malty flavor with some chocolate and a very dry coffee finish. Not bad. danielcurtis81 (885), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours and almost black brown hue with a pale brown head. Nose is roasted barley with some oat. I do not disagree with the cigarette aromas. Very nice roasted malt with a pretty decent coffee flavor for a dry stout. Also a nice cigar tobacco flavor too. Mouth is medium bodied, a slight lean to the watery side. Very easy drink with a slight burnt after taste.
