4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Black with a quarter inch tan head.
Smells of roasted, burnt malt. Coffee and a little cocoa. Smells like darkness.
Tastes like burnt malt, not sweet. Then more burnt malt towards the end and wrapped up with some good biting bitterness
Fairly crisp for a stout, but nice. Ends a little softer in texture. Moderate carbonation.
I really like this stout. A straightforward dark tasting stout. It does not have any crazy flavors, just the basics and done very well. Very drinkable all night long.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Yeah the hops sort of get in the way of the malts, but I know some people love that, so I guess that's ok.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the hotel minibar, pours near-black with a thin crema, roasty malt nose, big hit on the palate with a firm pine hoppiness overshadowed by lots of burnt barley bitterness, liquorice, tasty but the burntness is a little harsh.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
3.75 A: Black color. Just over one finger of frothy tan head. Retention is about average and a decent amount of lacing is left.
3.75 S: Moderate roastiness. Lactose like tanginess. Chocolate and vanilla. Caramel and light molasses. Quite nice.
3.25 T: Taste is like the nose, but less impressive. Moderate roast. Chocolate and vanilla are subdued as is the caramel. Lactose or lactose-like component is still there.
3.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking creaminess.
3.0 D: Started out strong, but ultimately didn’t do much for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours very dark, with a nice whitish tan head. Aroma of a good stout; rich and malty. Taste is dark with lots of malts, a touch of hoppiness. All in all, a good, solid stout. Thumbs up.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasted malt, cocoa and lactose aroma and flavor. Taste is mostly dry but has a slight sweet lactose like finish along with bitter cocoa finish. Nice stout. Maybe a bit bitter finish but I like it overall.
